Article 2259

Where an employee has completed at least one year of service his right to compensation shall be calculated as follows:

two weeks of wages for each of the first five years of employment;

three weeks of wages for each year after the fifth year up to and including the tenth year; or

four weeks of wages for each year after the tenth year.

Where an employee has completed less than one year of service he shall be entitled to a proportionate amount of two weeks wages.

The wages used for calculations under this Article shall be the last wages earned by the employee at the time of termination.
